The optical AND sunglasses range is on display at Eye Station.

Ray Ban was founded in 1937 after the US Army Air Corps Lieutenant asked a medical equipment company to manufacture aviation sunglasses that would assist pilots with the distraction that is caused by intense blue and white hues of the sky. The first prototype was created with a plastic frame and green lenses. This was trialed and the following year was patented as the ‘Ray Ban Aviator’. Since then, Ray Ban have evolved into one of the most renowned sunglasses brands with their ‘Wayfarer’ and ‘Aviator’ styles and the green G15 lens an eminent standard for most Ray Ban models.
